Afterburner, our flagship American IPA intensified with more malt, more hops, and coming in at 9.0% ABV, was brewed for Hayburner’s biggest fans. This imperial IPA is best described as a citrus bomb, with huge orange flavor and aroma, yet still possessing Hayburner’s classic bitter edge, alcohol bite, and excellent drinkability.

Online ordering for pickup at our tap room or shipping (currently shipping to NY & PA only) will be available beginning Friday, 6/28. Limited distro starting next week.

Lockport+Night+FR+Corner+ +Night+4 5 - OVERDUE: AN UPDATE ON LOCKPORT

It’s been several months since we announced our intention to open a tap room and brewery in Lockport. We provided a bit of background around that decision in December. We thought it was time (overdue in fact!) for an update on the progress we’ve made since then.

The time since our last update has mostly been consumed with completing a mountain of paperwork. We’ve completed all the drawings of the space. This includes important pieces like plumbing, electrical, flooring, build outs of the kitchen, bars, and brewery, and important changes to the site like the installation of new staircases that allow for guests to go between the upper floor, where the main tap room will be, and the lower floor, which will be where the private event space, the brewery, the keg cooler, and the offices will be located.

We’ve applied for our federal brewing permits, our New York State alcohol manufacturing permits, as well as our liquor license.

The brewery design is completed and we’re just about ready to order equipment. We’re working with Blichmann to order our 2-barrel electric brewing system along with five 2-barrel fermenters. The kitchen design is complete as well. The Lockport kitchen equipment will be similar to our downtown kitchen equipment except for a new conveyor pizza oven which will ensure our pizzas are cooked evenly and perfectly every single time.

We’ve also completed the orders for our front-of-house furniture and audio/video equipment. We’re currently in the process of finalizing the interior design of the space. Once this is done, we hope to share a rendering of the new space with all of you, so you get an idea of what it’s going to look like when it’s ready to open.

The best news is that we finally began construction to turn the space into our tap room this past week! The fact that construction has started means that we now have a better idea of the timeline for opening… don’t worry, we’re getting to that.

Most importantly, we’ve made the first hire for our Lockport location in June, which is our General Manager. Our new GM Chelsie will be spending several months training at our downtown tap room before working full time on opening our Lockport location. At that time, we’ll probably start to hire other employees for the new location, starting with managers (expect see a job posting shortly for the Kitchen Manager position), and then moving on to bartenders, servers, line cooks, etc. We’ve had several inquiries about employment already – please be patient with us! We will definitely let you know when we’re ready to hire the rest of our staff. We’re excited to meet all of you!

We’ve got a new menu update with some great new items launching today. (Don’t worry, our most popular dishes aren’t going anywhere) Our new menu includes something for everyone, including a few wallet friendly items that taste amazing and will fill you up, some great vegetarian items, and more! What’s new:

SWEET BLUES ($10) Sweet potato fries, bleu cheese crumbles, honey butter, green onions.

SOUTHWESTERN BOWL ($13) Pico de gallo, black bean corn relish, cheddar cheese, avocado, chipotle ranch, served over wild rice. (You can add chicken, shrimp or steak for an extra charge)

BEEF ON WECK ($16) We’re finally offering this Buffalo favorite regularly! Thin sliced roast beef on a toasted kimmelweck roll, served with a side of horseradish and au jus.

BLACK BEAN MELT ($16) Grilled black bean patty, avocado spread, pepper jack, Pico de Gallo, jalapeños on grilled sourdough.

GARDEN PIZZA ($17) Housemade tomato sauce, mozzarella, mushrooms, onions, spinach, bell peppers.

Stock up for the long weekend with the return of two of our favorite IPAs – Stark White Dad Shoes and West Coast Burner!

STARK WHITE DAD SHOES: Perfect for drinking while mowing the lawn, grilling on the deck, watching golf, backing into parking spaces, or falling asleep on the couch, Stark White Dad Shoes is brewed with New Zealand Riwaka and Australian Galaxy hops. This IPA is best described as a passion fruit bomb. It’s super pungent and intensely fruity with very low bitterness. 6.2% ABV.

WEST COAST BURNER: It’s like this, and like that, and like this, and uh – West Coast Burner is just as bold and citrusy as our flagship American IPA with an extra kick of grapefruit, pine, and an even more bitter yet clean finish. Have one, then just chill, ‘til the next episode. 7.2% ABV.

Both beers will be available at our tap room beginning this Friday, May 24 on tap and in 4-packs (16oz cans). Limited distro starting next week. Online ordering for pickup or shipping (currently shipping to NY & PA only) will be available beginning Friday morning.

COMING THIS SUNDAY for the first time ever to Big Ditch –  Slushies!

Our slushie machine makes its debut this Sunday for Mother’s Day Brunch with our first frozen offering – Strawberry Frosé! This frozen drink is made with our own Strawberry Vision Sour Fruit Beer and Rosé. These will be available beginning this Sunday at our Mother’s Day Brunch and will be served all day and every day after that. Sunday Brunch runs from 10AM to 2PM, and as usual, no reservations are required.

We’re turning nine! To celebrate this year’s anniversary, we’re bringing you a beer and food tasting experience from around the world! Drink beer and eat small plates inspired by 5 different countries, right here at Big Ditch! Get your tap room passport stamped as you try the different food and beers. Fill up your passport and be entered to win the grand prize – a custom YETI cooler!

We’ll be offering beers and food dishes inspired by 5 different countries. For each food station you visit, you earn a raffle ticket. For each new beer you try, you earn another raffle ticket. Try all five beers and all five small plates to earn a fully stamped passport that you can enter into the raffle to win the grand prize!

The beer and food is inspired by the following countries:

  • Japan – Yuzu Rice Lager paired with Sushi Wontons

  • Venezuela – Roasted Plantain Brown Ale paired with Venezuelan Pork and fried plantains

  • India – Mango Pastry Sour Ale paired with Tandoori Chicken

  • Jamaica – Tropical Stout paired with Jerk Chicken Skewers

2024+Pi+1 01 - BIG DITCH RUN CLUB 2024

BDRC is back! Join us on the third Monday every month for a group run followed by beer and food at the taproom.

This is just for fun! All runners welcome, go at your own pace!
– Runs start/end at Big Ditch Brewing Company.
– Runs start at 6:00pm. No pre-registration. Just show up a few minutes early, sign in, and be ready to go at 6:00.
– Melina from Next Level Running will lead the group runs.
– There will be a 3 mile and 4 mile route planned each week.
– Route maps will be provided.
– We’ll have water ready for you when you get back so you can hydrate before moving on to celebratory beers.
– The run is free to attend and open to all types of runners.
– Beer and food specials for runners each week after the run.
