STRANGEBURNER: VOLUME 2 is available now!

We collaborated with barrel wizards Strangebird out of Rochester, NY for a second time to blend our flagship American IPA with their barrel aging expertise. Volume 2 of Strangeburner kisses our IPA with neutral white wine barrels to add a clean oak flavor and a light vanilla undertone to the citrus character expressed by the hops. 7.2% ABV.

We’re proud to announce that TURKEY TROTTER is back! We’ve partnered with YMCA Buffalo Niagara for the third consecutive year to bring you the perfect finish line beer – TURKEY TROTTER! Turkey Trotter Blonde ale was brewed to celebrate The YMCA Turkey Trot, which is the world’s oldest consecutively run footrace, and a Buffalo tradition since 1896. Turkey Trotter, a refreshing blonde ale featuring crackery malt flavor and light hoppy fruit flavor, is the first beer brewed specifically to celebrate this long standing tradition. This year, we’ve tweaked the recipe slightly to add a touch more hoppiness, making it even more refreshing! (4.7% ABV) PLUS a portion of all proceeds from this beer supports YMCA Buffalo Niagara’s efforts to strengthen the WNY community.

Turkey Trotter is available beginning Thursday, October 3 on draft and in 6-packs of 12 oz cans at our tap room and online. (Shipping to NY & PA only) The beer will also be available at craft beer retailers and supermarkets across Western New York, including Tops, Wegmans, Dash’s, Consumer’s Beverages, and more, within the coming week. This year, to celebrate the release of Turkey Trotter, Big Ditch Brewing and YMCA Buffalo Niagara are giving away six free entries to the race. The contest, “SIP, SIP, HOORAY! IT’S A TURKEY TROTTER GIVEAWAY,” features six stickers attached to the underside of Turkey Trotter 6-pack rings. The winning 6-packs will be distributed throughout the Western New York area. OKTOBERFEST Bavarian-style lager will be available this Friday, 8/30 at the tap room on draft and to-go in 4-packs (16oz cans). This German-style malty lager features notes of toasted bread, fig, and a light touch of honey on the finish, with a fairly light and refreshing body for the style. 6.0% ABV.

A BEER FIT FOR THE FAIR!

Is there any greater event signifying the best parts of summer than the Fair? We brewed Funhouse Mirrors, a pastry sour ale featuring roasty peanut butter flavor up front and a jammy blackberry finish, to evoke the joy you feel walking the fairgrounds, deciding which crazy food to eat or which insane ride to get on next. Fortunately, this beer won’t make you look or feel funny. Unless you drink wayyyy too many of them. 6.3% ABV.

Big Ditch has always prided itself on our quality. At our tap room, this means quality of beer, food, service, and environment.

While we would NEVER compromise our quality, we also know that discretionary spending is getting tougher for Western New Yorkers due to inflation-related pressure.

We want to continue to provide Buffalo with a place to get quality beer, food, service in a comfortable environment, but also at a relatively affordable price. While we’ve always worked hard to keep our prices reasonable (there isn’t an item on our menu that costs $20 or more), we thought we could still try to do a little more.

Starting today, we’re a offering a series of discounted menu items on different days of the week that will continue to provide the same high-quality products and service you expect from us, but also provide an even better value.

Thanks to all of our loyal customers for continuing to support Big Ditch over the last 9+ years and counting. We look forward to seeing you this summer.
